Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026. This policy covers the TaskWire desktop app, the website at taskwire.si, and the live hub at hub.taskwire.si. "TaskWire", "we" and "us" mean the people who run TaskWire.
The short version
- Your files and code never leave your computer through TaskWire.
- In Local mode, your board (tasks, chat, logs) stays on your computer too.
- We keep what we need to run your account: your email, a scrambled form of your password, your licenses and the computers you sign in on.
- PayPal handles payments. We never see your card or bank details.
- The app can send us anonymous usage statistics, counts like "12 tasks finished today". These can't be linked to you, and we may share or sell them. You can turn this off in Settings.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we never sell your board's contents or your files.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address (or a username an admin gave you), your password stored as a salted hash we can't read back, when you signed up, and your sign-in sessions with the name of the device you signed in from.
Licenses and computers
Your plan, how many computers it covers and when it ends. For each computer you sign in on: an identifier the app derives from that computer, the computer's name, its operating system, the app version, and when it last checked in. This is how we count seats and let you sign a computer out.
Payments
When you pay, PayPal sends us the order or subscription ID, the amount, the currency, the payment status and the email address for the license. Card and bank details stay with PayPal, under PayPal's privacy statement.
Live boards
If you switch a board to Live, its tasks, task logs, chat messages, agent names, workspace names and folder paths are stored on our server so the app and your agents can reach them. Agent keys are stored as hashes. Your files are not: agents in the cloud work from their own copy of your Git repository.
Security and server logs
Our servers and our network provider, Cloudflare, record IP addresses and request details in access logs. We use them to keep the service running and to stop abuse, and we keep them only for a limited time. We also keep a log of account actions, such as licenses granted, to resolve problems and disputes.
Advertising measurement on our website
Our website (taskwire.si, including its account pages and docs, but not the desktop app) uses the Google tag from Google Ads to measure which of our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. When you visit, your browser loads it from Google, which receives the address of the page you're on (without anything after a "?" or "#"), your IP address, your browser details and, where allowed, a cookie. Google handles this under Google's privacy policy; you can control ad personalization in Google's ad settings.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the tag starts with advertising and analytics cookies switched off, and Google measures without them. Visitors in Europe see a banner asking whether Google may use its ad cookies; the cookies stay off unless you choose Accept. Your answer is stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time: .
Anonymous usage statistics
Unless you turn it off (Settings, "Share anonymous usage statistics"), the desktop app sends one report a day containing only:
- the app version, operating system, whether the board is Local or Live, and the plan type (Solo or Team);
- how many tasks were created, finished, sent to review and tagged as bugs, and the typical time from claiming a task to review;
- how many messages people and agents sent, how many agents were active and in which roles, and which kinds of agent tools they used (for example Claude Code or Codex);
- for AI models you added with an API key: the provider, the model name, and how many tasks, replies and tokens they used.
The report is sent without your sign-in, and contains no email, name, account, license, computer identifier, task text, message text, folder or file. We don't store the IP address it came from, and we record only the day it arrived. We also count daily business figures, such as sign-ups, trials started and purchases, as totals that don't include who they were.
What we never collect
- Your files, code or folder contents.
- Your Local board. It's stored only on your computer.
- Your AI providers' API keys. The app stores them encrypted on your computer, and calls the provider directly.
- Your conversations with AI models. They go straight from your computer to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms.
How we use it
To run your account and licenses, take payments, host Live boards, send password and purchase emails, keep the service secure, answer support requests, meet legal obligations, and understand how TaskWire is used so we can improve it.
Sharing and selling
We may use, publish, share, license or sell the anonymous usage statistics and business totals described above. For example, we might sell reports on which AI models are used for coding tasks and how many tokens tasks take. Because they can't be linked to a person, they aren't personal information.
We do not sell or share your personal information, as "sell" and "share" are defined in laws such as California's. We never sell or share your account details, your Live board's contents or your files. We share personal information only with:
- companies that help us run TaskWire, under contract and only for that purpose: PayPal (payments), Cloudflare (network and security), our hosting provider, and our email provider;
- Google, for measuring our ads on our website, as described in Advertising measurement;
- authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our users, ourselves or others from harm or fraud;
- a buyer or successor, if TaskWire is sold or merged. This policy would continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
Account, license and Live board data stays while your account exists. When you delete your account, or ask us to, we delete it within 30 days. Payment records are the exception: we keep them as long as tax and accounting law requires. Anonymous statistics aren't linked to you, so they're kept.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your account details, sign computers out and revoke agent keys on your account page.
- Turn off anonymous usage statistics in the app's Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your personal information, or to correct or delete it, by writing to us below. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, you have further rights, such as to object to how we use your information or to complain to your data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using them. Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is running our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving TaskWire, and legal obligations.
Security
Connections are encrypted. Passwords, sessions and agent keys are stored as hashes, and licenses are signed so they can't be forged. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
TaskWire isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Where your information is processed
Our servers and providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we protect transfers with appropriate safeguards.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. For important changes, we'll also tell you by email or in the app before they apply.
